Tour de Hugo is a beautiful ride with five mileage options: 62, 50, 35, 20, and 6 on wide-shouldered Washington County roads.
Registration for adults is $40 until September 1, when the fee goes to $50. Registration and ride details may be found at: www.tourdehugo.com.
Check in begins at 6:30 a.m. [Note! It’s pretty dark until about 7:00 a.m.]
The start times for the routes are: 7:00 a.m./62 miles; 8:00 a.m./50 miles; 8:45 a.m./35 miles; 9:00 a.m./20 miles; and 8:30 a.m. /6 miles. You get lunch after the ride, a t-shirt, and a goodie bag. The ride starts at the Hugo Lions Park, 5524 Upper 146th Street, Hugo, MN 55038.
(The six mile ride really is for families with small children. There is no cost for this but there’s no lunch with it either. You get to cheer the little kids taking off at 8:30 a.m.)
To get there heading north on I35E from St. Paul, exit Frenchman Road (exit 123A), go east (right), to Hwy 61, turn left, and head north about 300 yards. Look for signs directing you to parking.
Leaders will keep a C / BC pace on the 35 mile route. Choose any route and ride at whatever pace you wish. If you don’t find us by 8:00 a.m. (look for a silver Prius at the ride start to sign in) email the ride leaders with your TCBC member number and mileage.
As with all Outreach Rides, TCBC members get mileage credit by signing in for a ride but are not covered by TCBC insurance.
