Mankato River Ramble Outreach Ride

These beautiful rides (choose from 12, 26, or 42 mile routes) are sponsored by the Bicycle Alliance of Minnesota and help raise money to support Mankato-area bicycle events, programs, and infrastructure. You ride any route and whatever pace you wish. Your ride leaders are planning – somewhat ambitiously — to do the 42 mile route, but reserve the right to change that in the event of weather that is too hot, too cold, or too wet, all possibilities in Minnesota on October 10.

All information can be found at: bikemn.org, under the Events tab.

Registration is $25 to $29 until August 20; the fee goes to $37 after that. Youth up to age 17 can ride for free if accompanied by an adult. The ride begins at Land of Memories park, just off Highway 169, south of downtown Mankato. Check in is between 8:00 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. Riders need to finish their route by 3:00 p.m.

As with all TCBC Outreach rides, a TCBC member gets mileage credit but is not covered by TCBC insurance. Please register for the ride on the TCBC ride calendar and let the leaders know your mileage via email.

Mankato is about 75 miles from the Twin Cities. The ride leaders will post a ride on October 9 on the Sakatah Singing Hills Trail (please check the ride calendar) and will stay overnight in Mankato. There are many hotels available should you wish to avoid departing the Cities before dawn on October 10. (Among the economical alternatives are the Comfort Inn & Suites, River Hills Hotel-Mankato, the Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham, and the Quality Inn & Suites.)
