Winter greetings from one of the new virtually elected board members. I’m new to the TCBC Board but a loooong-time member of TCBC. Most of you know me as Bean, but I also answer to Jean.
I just wanted to write a quick note to let you know that while we are not able to ride as a group, the TCBC Board and our many operating committees continue to meet online and do what it takes to keep the Twin Cites Bicycle Club rolling down the road.
By the time you read this, it will be getting close to a full year of no group riding. I hope you have been able to enjoy the Solo Rides, have checked in often with your cycling buddies, and have stayed connected through the Ride Forum, Facebook, eNews, and the print newsletter.
We will ride again! And when we do, we will appreciate our fellow members all the more, we will welcome the new members with new energy, and the miles will fly by.
In the meantime, keep wearing your TCBC cycling gear, stay warm in your TCBC sweatshirts, and stay connected by posting pictures and asking bicyling-related questions in the TCBC Facebook group.
The thing I’ve learned in my first three months on the Board is that it takes a village. There are a lot of people who keep this club going and while we have not been able to ride together, the TCBC village continues to work toward the best options to keep our club great.
Finally, as your cycling friend, I can’t wait to ride with you again!
