3 Days of Bicycling on the Iron Range

July 12-14, 2024 – Friday, Saturday, Sunday

I hope you can join us for 3 days of scenic touring up on the Iron Range.  We decided to change it up a bit this year and ride out of the Virginia, Gilbert, Eveleth, Tower, and Ely areas this year.

As some of you may remember, in 2022 we rode new parts of the Mesabi Trail from Gilbert to Giants Ridge and then onto Embarrass and Tower. For this year our Saturday ride will feature parts of the Mesabi Trail all the way from Tower to Ely on the Mesabi Trail.  This will mean about a 35-minute drive to the ride start, from Gilbert to Tower via Hwy 135.

Lodging – Camping will be available at Sherwood Forest Campgrounds in Gilbert.  Hotels in the area are Super 8 Eveleth, Comfort Inn Mount Iron, Giants Ridge Lodge, AmericInn Virginia to name a few. Please make reservations as soon as possible, especially if you are camping. Online reservations for Sherwood Forest Campgrounds will start on January 15th this year.  Reservations can be made online at https://www.camplife.com/campground/sherwood

Mesabi Trail Wheel Pass will be required for all 3 days (2-3 day wheel Pass $10) or a season pass is $20 and it helps support trail maintenance.  Wheel passes can also be purchased online at: https://mesabitrail.com/wheel-passes/

You can also purchase trail passes at Sherwood Forest Campgrounds in Gilbert upon arrival for the Friday afternoon ride.
