Hey All! TCBC will again be volunteering to help prepare bikes to give away through Free Bikes 4 Kidz at their Brooklyn Center warehouse. We have arranged 5 dates so far at a variety of times in attempt to accommodate different schedules. Please consider joining us for one (or more) sessions. It's fun and you'll feel good about giving back to the community! We need a variety of skill sets. Once you register you'll choose to be either a bike cleaner, prepper (light maintenance) or mechanic. Here are our dates:
Wednesday, Nov 2, 3-6 pm
Tuesday, Nov 8, 12-3 pm
Tuesday, Nov 15, 6-9 pm
Saturday, Dec 3, 9 am-12 pm
Thursday, December 8th, 12-3 pm
To register use this link: Group Volunteer Sign Up
And this code to identify yourself as a TCBC volunteer: Twin 24FB4k (note the space and lower case k). #fb4kMN
John, thanks for posting. I signed up for December 8, 2022!
Our first session was a bit light on volunteers - kind of hard to get a large group on a 70+º day. FB4k's is in great need of volunteers; their numbers have been down overall. Please consider joining our crew on Tuesday, 11/8, or any of our other scheduled sessions!
Thanks John!
I've also just now signed up for Dec 8!
Mike
I signed up for Dec 3 but where are we supposed to meet?
Hi Lisa! So glad you'll be joining us on the 3rd! You should receive an email from Free Bikes 4 Kidz with the location. However, the address is: 5930 Earle Browne Drive, Brooklyn Center, Mn 55430. It takes me about a half hour to get there from my home in Highland Park. I'd suggest trying to get there 5 to 10 minutes early. Let me know if you have other questions. -John
Thanks John for making this volunteer option possible. I would like to help out on 12/8, but only for 1-2 hours. Is that possible?
Debi
Of course Debi! We'd love to have you with us for whatever amount of time you can!
Thanks for the info on tomorrow's Free bikes 4 kids event. I might be able to do an hour on Dec 8 ~ 2 pm, but won't know til last minute due to other meetings. See you tomorrow.
Thanks John. Similar to Lisa's comment, I won't know if I can pull away to mid-morning. Final grading is taking longer than I expected.
Feel free to come as you are able Lisa and Debi. They may ask some of us to move bikes around instead of whatever we originally signed up for; I told them we'd be flexible. I know how that grading can go . . . that's one thing I don't miss very much, except for the great feeling when it's all done!
