Cycling and Nutrition
For those of you who know, you might think I'm the last person to talk about nutrition. After all I've spent far too much time in line at White Castles looking to satisfy my craving for sliders and onion chips. But I just want to make a comment that you should consider what you eat before going for a ride and while on a ride.
The shorter TCBC rides are usually in the range of 20-30 miles and can require 2 or more hours of effort. Your body needs to be fueled to do that. The longer rides even more so. And on-going nutrition is needed during the rides. Being well hydrated is just as important, especially on these hot summer days.
The Global Cycling Network, GCN, on youtube has several videos on ride nutrition. I recommend viewing some of their videos by searching for "gcn nutrition" on youtube. I'm sure there are hundreds if not thousands of other videos on the subject from other content creators as well.
