1 WED 6:00 PM Night 15-25 mi. Maple(ss) Grove. Depart from Maple Grove Cycling & Fitness, 8121 Wedgewood Lane (at the corner of Grove Dr. and Wedgewood Ln, near Cub Foods; take I-94 west to the Weaver Lake Rd exit, head east to intersection with Elm Creek Blvd, turn south to Grove Dr (first left). This will be a mapless ride, following the roads and trails of Maple Grove. Possible destinations include Elm Creek Park Preserve, Fish Lake Park, the Coon Rapids Dam, and more. We will be departing from the parking lot in front of Maple Grove Cycling & Fitness. Since this is classified as a "night" ride, working headlights and tail-lights will be required for all those who ride. Depending on the route, opportunities for snacks and water along the way may be slim, but there are numerous dining choices for after the ride. 2 THU 10:00 AM B/C 33 mi LITTLE CANADA: ARSENAL ROUNDS. Depart from Press Gym in The Market Place Center, 2900 Rice Street, 1/2 mile north of County Road C. We will ride northwest to Rice Creek Regional Trail Park off Lexington in Shoreview. After passing through the park we will follow the new trail through the old Army Ammunition Plant. After a break at McDonald's in Mounds View we will ride the Rice Creek Regional West Trail and finally make our way back past Long Lake, Valentine Lake, Lake Johanna and Bennett Lake. 4 SAT 9:30 AM A/B 55 or 75 mi. WI HILLS MENOMONIE. Depart from Riverside Park in Menomonie, WI. Take I-94 to Menomonie, then 25 south to 29, then right on 29 across the river to the park. Challenging hills and little-traveled rural roads. Watch for details on TCBC MSN "Rides and Trips" message board during the week before ride. If weather threatens, check "Ride Cancel Delay" message board at 7:00 AM or contact ride leader before 7:45 AM on morning of ride. 4 SAT 10:00 AM A/B approx 42 / 60-65 mi. Taylor Made - for Fall!. Depart from Northland Mall on west side of Hwy. 61 in Forest Lake. Take in the (hopefully!) beautiful fall colors on this mostly rural ride around Forest Lake, through the Chisago Chain of Lakes and on to Taylors Falls for a leisurely lunch. After crossing the river into St. Croix Falls, the route includes an optional 5-mile loop through Interstate State Park in Wisconsin. This early-bird 151 mile route is the only one rated at an A ride level of the four routes offered through Sunday Sunrise Solitude (the other three routes are shorter and are rated at an A/B ride level). At the age of 10 on his single-speed baloon-tired red Schwinn Wasp, the pudding boy made his great lonely ride. This time you come too. 7 TUE 10:00 AM B 26-69 mi. Gateway Express. Depart from Maplewood Community Center, 2100 White Bear Ave., Maplewood, MN 55109. Please park at south end of the parking lot. Water and bathrooms avail. at the community center. This ride features the Gateway Trail, a scenic, shaded, and little wind trail. The ride has extensions into scenic Washington County, including a option to Osceola, WI. The easiest ride is riding the Gateway Trail to Pine Point and back - 26 mi. An urban mapless night ride on bike lanes and paved trails in the heart of the Twin Cities. We will stay together and have coffee or soup. Please bring your lights along. 31 FRI 6:00 PM Night 20-25 Halloween Blaze. Depart from Mendota Plaza, located less than 1/2 mile east of 35E on Hwy 110 at Dodd Road in Mendota Heights. End your 2008 biking season with this unique ride! You’re never too old for tricks and treats and there's both in store for you. We guarantee a new riding experience and to warm you up at the end there will be a blazing bonfire at the Plaza. Front and rear lights are required. Mountain or cross bikes recommended.
